Right now, I have a second music subscription, this time with Apple Music. Ironically, a few days after cancelling, Adele called out Spotify on the same issue and they made changes for her! There were other reasons for cancelling though… I don’t mind it too much on playlists, but not even always then. Spotify loves shuffle and it just drove me mad. Sure, Apple and YouTube Music have their advantages in some niche areas – be it hardware support or things like spatial audio. And because it’s the biggest, it probably has the best range of music and curated playlists on any of the music services. If you want to connect some hardware to a streaming app – it’ll probably work easiest on Spotify. If somebody interesting has a shared playlist – it’s on Spotify.
I think it’s fair to say that based on functionality and widespread adoption, Spotify has the best music streaming app.
